Happy independence day to Mexico!
This year I will be shooting both the video and photography for the Lubbock Fiestas del Llano. Every year this is a HUGE event in the hispanic community and I can not wait to get this job under way.
I go to the Fiesta’s every year, mainly for the food and music, but the pageant is something I have always wanted to go to.
A quick side story… two years ago from tomorrow… I went to the fiestas with a miss liza. Later that night she was “officially” my girlfriend and we have been dating ever since! We hadn’t been dating for too long, but I swept her off her feet and asked her to be my girlfriend in a very romantic way. She was all for being my girlfriend and now we love each other very very much!… ok… so she will probably tell you a little different variation of how I actually asked her to be my girlfriend… but thats my story… and I am sticking to it!
Ok… now back to the fiestas!
I know several people in the community and fiestas board members. When I was approached to do this job, I was a little iffy at first, because my services are being provided for Free!
Well, no problem there! I couldn’t think of a better, and more fun way to help the community. Offering my services for such an awesome event seems like a perfect way to give back to the community.
The people with the fiestas are definitely hooking me up though! All weekend, I will have EXCLUSIVE rights to the official photography and video of the pageant. AND I get a free booth to advertise at, and they are also allowing me to sell my photos and video at my booth.
Oh, and I will have volunteers from the National Hispanic Institute helping make sure everything runs smooth and in order.
Ok, so I really hate to put this at the end (But I have to save the best for the last!)… It’s time that I give do where it should be given!
Let me introduce you to MY TEAM:
My two photographers will be Liza and Shannon.
Liza has been around me for the past two years and has definitely had her share of photo taking! Shannon is the graphic designer at my day job, Texas Tech, and her creativity is amazing!
I will be shooting video and of course, the volunteers will be helping tons as well!
